Next I simply rolled out
each run and connected it to
the header line
One simple but key component
was stakes. I made sure that
every portion of the system
was well secured to prevent
movement during backfill and
inhibit the pipe from
working its way to the
surface in the future.
I left all lines
disconnected from the footer
line to allow proper
flushing.
After all was said and done
about 1100' of Rootguard
emitter line was used on the
front yard
Probably the most important
part of the installation is
flushing the lines
With the water running I
worked my way from one end
to the other ensuring that
any debris was removed from
the lines
With all the lines hooked up
and flushed it was time to
test
I was quite impressed with
the fact that with about
1100 emitters running at
once they were very
consistent and not 1 was
plugged
You can really see how they
soak into each other after
running for about 1/2 hour.
The area soaked will
increase once they are
covered in soil
